Narrare le passioni - Narrating passion
Il progetto si propone di indagare il nucleo generativo dell’arte del narrare le passioni come elemento centrale non solo dell’identità letteraria europea, ma anche dell’identità collettiva della società moderna. A tal fine verrà presa in esame l’evoluzione delle matrici che hanno formato un certo ‘modo italiano’ di esprimere l’universo sentimentale della passione amorosa (forme narrative, intrecci, personaggi, espressioni retoriche). Lo studio della rappresentazione narrativa delle passioni deve prendere in considerazione anche la sua possibile ricaduta in ambito politico, religioso e, in generale, ideologico, come ad esempio il potere politico intrecciato al potere familiare (conflitti nelle politiche matrimoniali europee) o la tensione tra le passioni ed il potere ecclesiastico, tra Riforma e Controriforma.

The project will research the generating nucleus of the art of narrating as a central element, not only of the identity of European literature, but also of the collective identity of a modern society. For this purpose the evolution of the matrix that forms a certain “Italian way” of expressing the emotional universe of the passion of love (narrative forms, plots, characters, rhetorical expressions) will be examined. The study of the narrative representation of passion must also take into consideration its possible repercussions in the political, religious and, in general, ideological spheres, such as, for example, the political power intertwined with family power (conflicts in European matrimonial policies) or the tension between passions and ecclesiastical power, between Reform and Counter-Reformation.
